FAQs

We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions.

If you do not find an answer to your question here, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Q. How quickly can you complete an order?

A. Orders that we receive from retail stores are completed within 24 hours of receipt. For larger orders (manufacturers) we will be able to advise a turnaround time based on the information we receive. A number of our customers use us because we deliver a very quick service without compromising the quality of the finish. We will do what we can to meet any special deadline requirements you may have.

Q. Do you take on large orders of work?

A. We have a range of customers, from individuals to large manufacturers. If we feel we are not the right company to complete your order, we will be able to advise of a more appropriate company.

Q. What if I am not sure what finish I need on my jewellery?

A. We have the experience to guide you and help you decide the best finish for your item; we do not expect our customers to be experts!

Q. I do not live near the jewellery quarter in Birmingham; how do I get my item finished?

A. Send it to us! We are very good at what we do, and very competitively priced. 90% of our customers are not local and choose to mail or courier their items to us rather than use uncompetitive local companies without our experience. We recommend that you use Royal Mail’s Special Delivery to ensure your items get to us safely.

Q. What company do you use to deliver your items?

A. We use Royal Mail’s next-day ‘Special Delivery Guaranteed’ for all our UK customers, and do not add a surcharge for this service; we only pass on the actual cost to you. If you have a courier you would like us to use, we are happy to use them instead.

Q. Does the gold plating last?

A. If cared for properly, your gold plating will last and not wear through. Our gold and rhodium solutions are the best available in the UK and are both durable and hard wearing.

Q. How can I pay you for your work?

A. We can accept payments by cash, cheque or bank transfer.

Q. Why should I use you?

A. We are a professional, experienced company dedicated to providing a first class, prompt, professional service, which extends to all our customers both in mainland UK and worldwide.

Q. Do we have a Minimum Charge for single pieces of jewellery?

A. Yes – we do have a minimum charge for one-off pieces, so always call us before sending your jewellery.

Q. What happens if a stone breaks or cracks when being polished or plated?

A. This is extremely rare, occurring if the stone has an imperfection or is not set correctly. Upon receipt of an item we will advise you if there may be a problem with us handling it. If you decide to continue, we cannot take any responsibility for stones breaking or cracking when being polished or plated.
